Lost on November 25, 1943, Beaufighter A19-139 struck a tree at the top of a ridge line approximately 25km from Kimbe, New Britain.
As a result of a report by Mr Brian Bennett, an ADF recovery team was able to locate the site and retrieve the remains of both airmen in November 1995.
Both airmen were positively identified and later buried in the Bita Paka War Cemetery, Rabaul. |
