The US Embassy in Papua New Guinea notified CIL-HI on February 19, 2002 that the wreckage of the aircraft had been found, along with identification tags of the crew members.
A CIL-HI recovery team excavated the site in 2003 which led to the identification of eight of the nine crew members on board in May 2005. |
