Pacific Wreck Database

Welcome...
Justin Taylan and Daniel Leahy searching for Japanese bomber in PNG, 2005 Project PRIAM is a new Pacific Ghosts initiative created by Daniel Leahy in 2006 to document those still missing in the Pacific Theatre of the Second World War.  Using information gathered from relatives, eye witnesses, official documents and other sources we are putting the pieces together in the hope of one day helping to locate some of those personnel with "No Known Grave".

We are constantly in search of extra information from the public that may assist with the many missing cases.  If you believe you may be able to assist, please feel free to Contact Us.

Priam visiting Achilles in The Iliad The name for this database - PRIAM - is a reference to the King of Troy from Homer's classic The Iliad.  In this story, Priam's son, Hector, was defeated in battle by Achilles who then dragged Hector's body away.  Priam later visited Achilles to beg for Hector's remains (left) so he could be returned to his homeland for a proper funeral.  In the same way we hope to be able to help locate the remains of the missing so they too can finally receive a proper burial.
